Privacy Policy

The AMA Hub collects only the information necessary to deliver our journalism, understand performance, and honor your privacy preferences.

What data we collect

We gather limited personal data when you voluntarily interact with The AMA Hub. This includes the name, email address, message details, and optional company information submitted through contact forms powered by Netlify Forms so that we can respond to inquiries.

Newsletter subscriptions are handled by Buttondown. When you sign up we store your email address, the signup source tag, and any optional preferences you provide. We use double opt-in where available to confirm consent.

When you read our coverage, Plausible Analytics and privacy-focused Google Tag Manager events capture anonymized engagement metrics such as page views, referral URLs, device type, and approximate geography. These analytics are aggregated and do not include your name, precise location, or other directly identifying information.

Legal bases and use of information

We process personal data on the basis of consent (for newsletters and optional cookies), legitimate interest (for essential site operations, performance monitoring, and fraud prevention), and contractual necessity (fulfilling reader requests you submit).

Data is used to publish and improve our reporting, send the newsletters you requested, respond to reader outreach, manage affiliate partnerships, and maintain platform security. We do not sell personal information or create behavioral advertising profiles.

Analytics, cookies, and tracking technologies

We rely on cookieless Plausible Analytics by default. Where cookies are necessary—such as remembering consent preferences or ensuring newsletter modals are not repeatedly shown—they are strictly functional.

Some affiliate links may include tracking parameters provided by retailers to confirm that a purchase originated from The AMA Hub. These parameters do not contain personal identifiers and expire according to each partner program’s policies. You can disable non-essential scripts at any time through the “Cookies & analytics” control in our footer.

We do not run targeted advertising networks. If future monetization introduces additional technologies, this policy will be updated before they launch.

Newsletter communications

Newsletter subscribers receive editorial briefings, product updates, and occasional reader surveys. Every email contains an unsubscribe link that immediately stops further sends. You can also request removal by contacting privacy@theamahub.com.

Buttondown tracks aggregate engagement such as open and click rates to ensure we deliver relevant content and maintain list health. We do not combine newsletter data with on-site analytics.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or download the personal data we hold about you; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. These rights are honored for readers covered by regulations including the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.

To exercise a right, email privacy@theamahub.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We verify your identity using the information on file and respond within 30 days, or sooner when required by law.

Data retention and security

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months to support ongoing conversations, after which they are securely deleted unless legal obligations require longer storage. Newsletter subscriber records remain until you unsubscribe or we sunset a list. Analytics data is stored for 18 months to observe long-term trends.

We secure our services through HTTPS, least-privilege access controls, regular dependency patching, and vendor due diligence. If we become aware of unauthorized access involving your data, we will notify affected readers and regulators when required.

International data transfers

The AMA Hub operates from the United States, and the service providers mentioned above may process data in the United States, Canada, or the European Union. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards when transferring personal data across borders.

Updates and contact

We review this Privacy Policy at least twice per year and whenever we launch new data practices. If the changes are material, we will provide advance notice on this page and through newsletter updates.

Questions about privacy can be sent to privacy@theamahub.com or mailed to The AMA Hub, 2105 Automation Way, Suite 400, Austin, TX 78758, USA.
